Starting Problem 71BB
It starts like it always( has) Hot it hits the first compression piston almost stops the starter but it fires up on the next cyl(everytime) just like it has for the last 7 years. (Now) on the hot re-start it fires up and slowly dies.........it feels like its starving for fuel. I can hold a steady pedal at 2500 rpm or pump it above 2500rpm and it slowly dies, just can't keep it lit.
Now on the re-start after the die I have to hold the pedal at 1/4 throttle and the starter turns over the engine vary quickly(no stalled starter) but I have to stay on the starter for about 3 to 4 sec and you can feel the engine fire one piston at a time, it starts up just as slow as it dies on cyl at a time.
She comes back to life and runs perfect.....not a problem for me but when the wife is out for a drive I always get the Darn call that it wont start and I have to go over the same hold 1/4 throttle starting procedure ever single time she drives it. Man is it me or was EFI invented by a man... just to stop the naggen!!!!!!!!!LOL.

PS the Dist, points, condenser, plugs, wires, and coil are just a couple years old, and I dwell the points in every spring. She idles perfect at 650 and the air A/C kicks her up to 800.
Last if you pump the pedal on the re start after die she floods out and you smell gas........then she is a problem to start.
Any Ideas????
