Does anyone know if the 78 -82 rear end Pumpkin has the same bolt pattern (where it bolts to the differential rear housing) as the 63-77 rear end. I have located a 1980 pumpkin that has the gear ratio I want (3:70). This rear end would be going in a 1971 corvette. Thanks for any help.

Actually, the change over from iron 10-bolt diff to the Dana w/aluminum batwing occured in '80. With a little work the earlier 10-bolt pumpkin can be adapted to mate with the late C3 batwing, but IMCO changing out a 10-bolt to the weaker '80-82 diff isn't a step forward, batwing conversion or no.

Thanks Charlie for the reply. I'll pass for now on what must be an 80-82 rear end. I'm gathering parts for a 1971 roadster that I have in storage right now. My son and I are currently finishing up a 66 GTO for him. We live in Collierville, I may pm you at a later date with any thoughts you may have on corvette suspension upgrades.
