I have a 68 four speed. After a drive, I put it in reverse to park it and it gets stuck. I let out the clutch and the car will not move forward or back. It feels like it is in between gears as it wants to move VERY slow forward. Yesterday at a show I thought I could smell the pressure plate burning when I was trying to get it to move. After a couple of double clutchings and shifting around it will catch in first and be fine. No problem at all on the road. Strange!

Not strange, pretty common especially for an original shifter. It needs tightening up and adjusting so you cant get into two gears at once.

But this statement concerns me :
" It feels like it is in between gears as it wants to move VERY slow forward."
Unless the car was just trying to "roll" forward it should feel more like the Jolly Green Giant has his foot on top of the car, no movement as a result of the clutch being engaged.
