Well today was day 5 of; "I bet you can't guess where your headers are."
Today I finally found someone at Jet-Hot with a brain, my thanks to Cathy(Kathy?) who is a new employee. Cathy was able to tell me that they still have my headers and sidepipes but was unable to tell me if they are finished, she advised me to call her back later and she would tell me. Cathy was the first person to be honest with me and tell me that they are running a bit behind. Well, after a few hours I called back but couldn't get through to her but a guy did tell me that the sidepipes are done but the headers were probably in an area where they couldn't see the tag on it.
Previously I had tried talking to various people in customer service, which in my opinion is a sick joke. I tried getting through to "Woody" who I'm told is the person who oversees customer service, every time I tried to get him on the phone he was "out in the plant," "out of the building," or "on vacation." When I tried talking to Woody's boss, who is the owner that failed as well. It took 5 days to find out that they even had my parts, absolutely ridiculous.
The person who was able to figure out the problem was of all people the receptionist, or at least I believe she was. The main problem was that for some reason I had 2 customer numbers, why I have no idea. This at least confirmed they had recieved my parts, at that point they were still unable to tell me the staus of them. So, for the last 10 days they have physically had my headers/pipes but really had no idea where they were, and still can't tell me when they might ship them back.
My suggestions to anyone planning on sending parts to Jet-Hot, plan ahead, well ahead, like a month ahead. If you call customer service and they take your name and phone number and tell you they will call you back, don't believe it, it's a lie, over the last 5 working days they told me that almost twice per day and didn't return a single call. The attitude of customer service people there leaves a lot to be desired from a company that is supposed to have such a good reputation, my opinion is that they are having lots of problems and the customer service reps are getting an earfull from angry customers all day long and are about fed up too.
To say the least I will be writing a letter to the owner expressing my displeasure with the service from Jet-Hot, and I will not be recommending them to anyone in the future. What I will be doing is searching all the sites people have posted on other coating companies for some other parts I would like coated. Thanks to those who posted the links to the other places! Thus endeth my ranting.
sharklover...I don't have side pipes. I ordered Flowtech headers from Summit and had them shipped directly to Jet Hot. I just called each to make sure of arrangements and had the completed headers 5 days after my Summit order. Total cost was 295. That was two years ago.
Hey Scott do you want me to pick them up on my way over to your place or don't you think they'll be ready by August? :D
You know I always love spending my vacation in the States under your car. It's just like being at home. :jester
It's sad how customer service has gone increasingly downhill. Hope you get your headers and sidepipes back okay.
BTW, what are they charging you? If you don't mind.
With shipping to Florida it was $525. I'm sure that now that they at least know they are in the building somewhere I'll get them back, it just sucks because they put me behind schedule when a 3 day turnaround time turns into 2 weeks. The other thing that worries me is what the quality will be like if customer service is bad.
Any time I had headers done by Jet Hot they came back with alot of orange peel in the finish.I was very disappointed.I would polish out as much of the orange peel as I could.I hope they refined their process.
I'm about to have a heart attack, it's the big one Ethel, I'm comin' to meet you honey! :jester
Well, all is not lost in the viod of Jet-Hot. Got home from school today and there was a message from Cathy telling me they had shipped my headers today. I will give credit where credit is due, so a big THANK YOU to Cathy the new employee at Jet-Hot. All I can hope for is that the rest of customer service there takes a few pointers from Cathy, she will actually call you back WITH information, she was polite and courteous. Thanks Cathy!
(of course I better watch it or he'll make me come over and clean parts... )
Sean, boy do I have a job for you :jester actually went and looked at it today, Tommy almost has his new one ready so I'll have it next week...he's the slacker. He smoked a Mustang Cobra today BTW...with my motor! Found out I need a set of taller valve covers, anyone have some spare change? :D
