My vette seems to run extremely cold..the needle will never climb further the first quart of the gauge...not even in heavy traffic..after wot if will pass a little but never hit the middle of the gauge...
I run a 73 l-82 manual.
The radiator was changed locally using the oem ends and a new and more water passages where put..so its should cool better.
T-stat is 180..and checked it yesterday..and it running fine..its closed cold and when heated it will open....
Seems to be running even colder now in winter though....so is my assumption that the radiator could be the culprit? or a faulty gauge?
Maybe putting a 195º t-stat may help raise some degrees?

Wanna trade for a vette that runs hotter than hell ???!!!!! LOL !!!
I know about problems of running cold that´s actually my concern....
Also I need to improve some mpg..my really suck...
I just had an issue with my temp sending unit. Turned out it was a broken wire. BUT...
In my research to solve the problem, I learned that some temp sending units do not display the proper temperature. I forgot where I seen it, but there if you measure the resistance of the sending unit, it can tell you how accurate the reading will be on your gauge.
The primary question is: was the temperature sensor replaced when the work was done? A lot of replacement sensors are the wrong resistance to work with the stock temperature gauges so the reading will be either too low or too high. Dewitt's claims to have sensors that will read correctly. You can check with them on prices.
