I have a rear suspension squeek that is driving me nuts. After having my son help me find it I think its the spring itself. I can hold onto the spring and "feel" it. It sounds as if its coming from the center of the spring (near the rear diff.
Any thoughts on what to do? I tried spraying oil between the leafs but no workie..

Dan... I have the same problem with my 79 L-82 about once a year. I usually solve the problem by putting the rear of the vehicle on jack stands and spray it heavily with penetrating oil and let it set over night. This has always eliminated my rear spring squeak. "Go Mountaineers".

jack the rear of the car to allow the spring to hang unsupported before spraying it with penetrating oil. That will allow the oil to saturate it better.
