'73 reverse light doesn't shut off

'73 reverse light doesn't shut off

Hey there folks...

I've got a '73 that all of a sudden the left side reverse light is on all the time and when I put it into reverse the right side doesn't turn on.

Any ideas?

Have I mentioned that I couldn't diagnose a lit candle?

I'll start with one potential solution though I think you have two problems. Try the bulb from the reverse light that works in the one that doesn't. I suspect it will.

Is the car an auto or 4 speed?

It's a 4 speed.

The right side bulb is probably burned out. Sounds like the reverse light switch is bad, misadjusted or the rod controlling it fell off.
Look under your hood at where your accelerator cable comes through and see if you can find a 2 wire plug with pink and green wires. Unplug it , the reverse lights should go off,if they do what I said above is most likely true.
