350/300 OR 350/350 - How do I tell?
Just wondering how do I tell which motor I have? I found an old console spec plate that has 350/350, but the current one on the console is 350/300. Any ideas how I find out? Apparently I have a #'s matching car, which I will check this weekend.

Melting Slicks
In addition to the codes, the 350/300 is supposed to have engine color valve covers and the 350/350 is supposed to have steel ribbed covers.
Proper 350/350 valve covers but painted engine color (before)
350/350 valve covers blasted and powder coating (after)

Safety Car
The L-46 (350/350) has aluminum valve covers, often referred to as LT-1 valve covers.
An L-46 will also has a 6000 rpm redline tach. When faking an L-46 the tach is seldom changed as its a PITA to do.
Swapping out the console tag is the easiest method of adding 50hp to a base engine corvette :-)
Adding the LT-1 valve covers to any SBC has always been a popular option.
