I have finally almost have my car (71 coupe) complete. I have installed new wiring harness and can not get the dash lights to work. I put a new 5amp fuse in. when i turn the headlights on the outside headlights come on but no interior lights. I turned the switch and nothing. I took the instrument (center) cluster out and i have gnd but seems the gray wires to the light are also gnd'd. I read the gray wire at the radio connector and its gnd'd. this is the wire for the radio light. So do you think that one of the lights (interior) are gnd'd some how??? What should i check. I would hate to check every little light in the dash. Maybe the light switch??
wow i know where your coming from i cant get mine to work either i tried to install my radio but i'm not finished with it but now my my dash light wont come on to? so i'm in the same boat
ok, no voltage on any side of fuse. i jumpered 12v to the fuse and got the lights to work. so i guess it is the headlight switch that is bad. is this a pain to change out???

Sounds like the switch but make sure the taillight fuse is good because it feeds the HL switch.
The HL switch is not bad to replace, lowering the column will make it easier.

all fuses are good. the headlights and tail lights work thru the switch. only interior lights are not working. so it seems like the switch, i just wanted to make sure nothing else before i messed with the switch.
