Default T-Top Liner help

I was installing weatherstripping on my 76 t-top and took the liner out to clean and get a better look under the liner to see if anything else needed replaced. I removed the screws on each side of the liner that screw into the t-top. When I did I found that the material around the clip was torn. Is there anything that I cound use that would stiffen the material around the clip, it looks like somekind of fiber. Thanks in advance for any help

The clip just slips over the fiber backing that is built into the liner. If that fiber has weakened or disintegrated, you can probably build it up using some JB Weld epoxy (two-part squeeze tube type if you want to firm up the existing fiber material; kneed-type stick epoxy if you have to replace the fiber material and get it to stick to the rest of the panel). Once hardened, put the clip back in place.

P.S. Pry those pin-type fasteners apart slo-o-o-w-ly so that you don't put stress cracks into the vinyl liner. When you put them back together, use your palm and press them together--starting with light pressure and continually adding pressure until they go together. DO NOT try to 'pop' them together with a quick hit with your palm. Old panels will crack and break if you do.
