I got mine from McLeod and man is it nice. They have all sorts to choose from and were very helpful when I called them on the phone to tell them what I had and needed.

Thanks for any good info.
Bought my clutch kit from Northern Autoparts Wharehouse. For 'bout 100 bucks. Installed the 11" BB clutch should work on yours too. Both should be 26 spline.
FWIW, always surface the flywheel and wipe down the pressure plate, clutch and flywheel with brake cleaner or equiv. Any grease/oil will cause a chatter. Apply a very small amount of lube on brearing retainer for release bearing to slide on. You prob. already knew all this, just wanting to save you some grief.

I very much appreciate any tips. First timer here. I am going to get help from a friend who has done two or three. I did find this video...
Mcleod Street Pro kit, very nice feel, actually I think its lighter than my stock set up, and reasonably priced.
You are about to embark on a VERY good time when doing this clutch. The C3 Corvette is unequalled in its ability to cause aggravation when you work on it, especially when pulling a 4 speed and doing the clutch.
If you are real lucky, the car is a factory 4 speed, and will have a non removable crossmember. To answer another question, yes there is a transmission mount, and replacing it is a good idea.
Aside from this, chances are you are going to cut your exhaust apart, so you may also want to consider replacing that while you are there.
You may also find that your factory shifter is a piece of junk, and decide to put in a Hurst.
Aaaaaand while the tranny is out, might as well have that rebuilt.
So in summary, this is a $hitty job to do, and you will spend a few bucks in the process that you arent yet expecting to spend.
I'm running the RST Twin from Mcleod. Shouldn't be a problem unless your doing a lot of custom stuff but you should make sure you have the right spacing between the throw-out bearing and your clutch fingers and torque everything properly. You don't want any wobble.

BBDave: Thanks for the upfront-ness of the task ahead. Excellent post! Yep, the crossmember is welded. It's an original 4-speed.
To be honest, that sounds like a lot like marriage. You love her looks, body, character. You marry... and only then you realize how much work, $, & TLC she takes. Sometimes, you are very aggravated at how much. Other times you think you are in way over your head. But you continue to remind yourself... "She's worth it. She's worth it." And this helps you plow through, learn, care, work, romance.
And thanks to all for the tips. Very much appreciated.
I'd stay away from the higher load clutches unless your going to improve the linkage. I ran them for years in my muscle cars, but they tear up stock pedal and linkage systems. Besides, stuff like the centerforce units are not going to do that. I run a new stock 10.5" replacement unit without any problems behind my 427. $120.00 at NAPA last time I checked

This sums it up fairly well. I changed mine a few weeks ago and the worst part was putting the bolts back into the shifter where it mounts to the cross member.
