This comparison between a steel spring and a VBP spring may explain why a jack was not needed to get the composite spring in position. The arcing is very different.

Okay. So the point of the longer bolts is to allow the ends of the leaf spring to hang farther "AWAY" from the trailing arms to lower the car, not bring them closer to them??

Correct

People will try to (incorrectly) correct me on my next statement.

The weight of the car will dictate the amount of spring flex absolutely regardless of the bolt length. Assuming nothing is bottoming out, the spring will have the exact same arc no matter what length bolt you use. Knowing this, think of the loaded spring as a fixed point. Ride height is now changed by altering the distance between the TA and the spring end.

I think I got the point now. My only concern now is how Do I get the bushings to seat right in the cups in T/A and spring if there is that much slack between the T/A and spring. I do not think they are just going to fall in place when I lowered the car on it's tires or will they?
Anybody...

I got frustrated with it so I took the day off. Starting fresh tomorrow morning. I am thinking that I am going to try something else, the strut rods seem to be a bit too long and I will try and make them a bit shorter. I think that by doing this the T/A's will pull up a bit more and things will fall in place a lot easier. If everything goes good I will be able to finish this job tomorrow. Thanks for everybody that has given me the advise I need to do this job
