Default Stalling, 70 big block

Had my Q-Jet rebuilt a while back. Looks great, seemed to run great for a while until the engine fully warmed.

Started to stall when I pulled up to a stop sign or stop light.
Got much worse, stalled when ever I stopped and was very difficult to restart. When it did start I had to hold the throttle at fast idle, died when I opened the throttle. Recovered a bit if I went easy on the throttle.

I'm letting it cool for now. Wondering if it's temperature related or maybe fuel? Car has been sitting for several months. Symptoms almost seem like it's starving. Fuel filter? When starting, if I opened the throttle things got worse.

Seems like a fuel system issue ???

im going through almost this exact same thing right now.. it was recommended that i check for vacuum leaks, and sure enough i found one.. a plugged vacuum source that i wouldnt have otherwise looked at. this was after replacing my fuel filter (which was dirty and probably helped) spark plugs (again, dirty and probably helped) and fuel pump. same symptoms persisted.. i will be replacing the vacuum cap sometime today. hope it works!
good luck on finding your source.

How many is "several"? Sounds like you could have mositure in the fuel tank. You could try some Heet and fresh gasoline.

I forget when it was that I last filled the tank, been that long. I sent the carb out for refurbishing in April. Haven't driven the car since last fall. We've had some very humid weather so it's possible it ingested some water. The symptoms sort of fit. Hard to start, ran only in a narrow range of throttle settings, wouldn't idle. Didn't seem to be flooding.
I didn't smell any gas. If anything it seemed the opposite, starving.

I'll disconnect the fuel line and dump a sample into a glass container, see if I can see water.

Other thought was vapor lock though I haven't experienced it before. Engine wasn't overheating, hot under the hood but temp gauge read 210. Other possibilities may be fuel filter or pump?

Car ran great for the first 20 minutes. Acted up after I parked it on a grade for a while.
Rapidly deteriorated.

I'd be interested to see if it runs fine when it's cold, dies after a period of running.

Thanks all for your thoughts, I didn't need another problem to solve with this car...
Keep the thoughts coming please...
