Default New Owner....Interior, Wheel, A/C Re-do

I'm a new guy around here.... I am thankful I found this website so I could get great ideas and tech tips...

I bought this car 2 weeks ago and have already completed several upgrades........ The car supposedly has 53,000 original miles and everything seems to indicate that to be true. The car even had undercoating done to it at one time.

Installed new carpet with a reflective heat shield underneath, New wheels & painted the calipers , painted some interior parts with interior spray, new door panels and re-unpholstered the seats myself....looks and smells like a new car inside. The A/C was fixed and changed over to R-134. I also installed new Dynomax mufflers.

I worked about 8 hours a day from Monday to Sunday. Now I am going to work at getting the engine compartment clean & new looking.

When I removed the carpet......I was very pleased to see it was rust free. There was a mouse nest under the center console and 100's of mouse poops.....everywhere.

I am a new owner of a 76 L-82. Is it hard to do the carpet? I was thinking of ading the heat sheild and thought that would be a good time to do new carpet. Just wondering how big of a job that it.

If I can do it..anyone can. It took me time to do it right...about 12 hours total time...

Just remember ....do not cut/trim anything until you are sure you need to.

I got all my supplies from Corvette America...they were great and I think they still have 10% off this month if you call them.

Also remember to but the reflective side down on the heat carrier and buy spray adhesive.

Thank you! I love the car..

Yes they are 17 inch wheels & tires that I bought from the parts section of this website for $800.00. I loved the look of those wheels and was going to buy them when I noticed the used package deal here and it was within driving distance to pick up. I got very luck on that deal.

I wondered that as well and did some fishing around...

Apparently they used the white 2 tone with at least a couple of combinations that year....

I had a 2 tone 77 and the reason I asked was your kick panels are white, where as mine were the dash color.

Maybe because of the bright sun down here, but I ended up painting the pillars and header panel the dash color too. White made me feel like a flood lite was constantly on.

No..you are right.... I chaged the colors of the kick panels from gray to white because they needed touched up...and I did not have gray paint. I painted them white for a temporary fix...

good eye...
