Default ceramic coated headers

Dose the ceramic coating help much with under hood heat?I have tried the wrap but rusted out headers in just a couple of years but that car was driven every day.Im thinking the heat is frying everything under the hood including my ps control valve. The car had them when I bought it.I may just get some repro exhaust manifolds and call it quits with the headers.I dont drive it more than 2000 miles a year but its roasting everything under the hood.

I had my headers ceramic coated a few years ago, the place that did the work polished and coated them inside and out. It does cut down on the heat under the hood plus when they polish the aluminum oxide in the ceramic, it looks pretty good and stays that way with little effort. I wouldn't buy anther set that wasn't coated

There's a noticeble difference. I had my headers coated (inside and out) several years ago. They still look great. I had forgotten how well the coatings worked until last year when I had to modify the header (I welded in a new #1 cylinder tube to clear the new suspension). For initial cosmetics I put a temporary high temperature silver spray paint coat on the new tube. There's a very obvious difference in the amount of radiated heat coming off the #1 tube versus the rest of the tubes.

Right now the header tubes are around 600 deg.If it would cut it in half it would be worth it.

Do you think a coating made of anything other than ice cubes would cut the temps in half ?
