Default 81 plugs and wires

Hi Everyone, I'm back. I want to change my plugs and wires on a stock original motor. The only concern I have is that the wire boots on the plugs are getting discolored from the heat of the exhaust manifolds and the heat shields. Is there one type of wire set that is better than the others for coping with the heat and also what would you recommend for spark plugs.
Thanks

Stone stock Delco wires and plugs. Available at your local GM dealer or Advance or Orieleys. If you are dead-set against stock wires then the MOROSO Blue Max are also good wires.

I just installed Summit 8mm wires with NGK spark plugs and the Summit blueprinted HEI distributor on my '80. I don't have but 5 miles on the setup, but I really liked the wires. They were exactly the same length as the factory original's (yes, they were 30 years old) and they 'snapped' onto the cap and plugs so that I knew that they were DEF on there and not going anywhere.
Time will tell about discoloration, though.

The original front two wires are routed between the engine and motor mounts....if you plan on keeping the original wiring routing....do not not go much thicker that stock wires or they will not fit.
