Default '72 alarm switch removal???

OK, most everything else is removed from the car except this little key switch on the back of the car just above the CORVETTE lettering. I disconnected the wires and have the little backing plate off but it still won't budge. How does this thing come out?

thanks again,

Sully

If you have the backing plate off it should come out. Maybe it is stuck or painted in. With the "C" clip backing plate off that is what holds it in the switch should come out.

try to wiggle it out carefully, or cut paint with razor blade around the switch to help loosen it. That is if you are redoing your paint.

yep, this is what I was planning on doing was to razor around the edge and then tap it from behind. New paint is the reason for removal anyways! I will let you guys know how it goes.

thanks again,
