Default a/c heater control panel

Hello my name is Brian I have a 79 L-82 4-speed and I am looking to put in a new heater a/c control unit in the console. I have never done this before.is it tuff to hook up the new cabels for the unit? How many bolts hold the unit in there? Any help would be great. thanks much Brian

Brian,
My advice is to spend another $30 and buy a copy of the Corvette Assembly Instruction Manual (AIM) for your '79 car. It has drawings of all the installation processes used on the final assembly line at the vehicle assembly factory (Bowling Green, KY). If you are going to do any work on your own car, it is an indispensible aid.

Good advice above but to answer your question, your 79 is most likely pretty similar to my 75 and if so it's pretty easy to do. I've had mine out a couple of times, I could easily see what hardware had to be removed. Hopefully someone with a 79 will chime in with better info.
