I'm going to need to hook a remote switch to my starter solenoid (guess who moved the crank when the distributor was out?). Which of the small wires is actually connected to the ignition switch? Since as I recall , there's 2 small wires (I think...it's been awhile)
While we're here, I know what the solenoid does...why are there TWO wires in addition to the heavy lugs?
You want to attach your remote wire to the purple wired S terminal, its closest to the block.
The other yellow R terminal is to feed the dist directly while cranking.
When you release the key to ON the dist is fed by a resistor wire to reduce the amperage to make the points last.
