High-Flow Air intake systems
I need a new air filter system because mine is known to be a fire hazard on my 76 l-82. I have an Edelbrock 750 cfm carb.
Wondering if these are good and if they will fit well.
K&N has this one:

if you interested let me know.. thx, Paul
I'm not really sure what I'm looking for. Just saw this and wondered if it could work on a C3.
I Didnt see any specifically for the C3 either. Mostly C5 and C6.
I did notice some other options on MidAmerica: http://www.mamotorworks.com/corvette...-135-1165.html
These don't add much (if any) HP but might just be a good replacement for me.
Other than stock what does everyone else use for air filters?

Let me know if you want pics or details of my CAI under a stock hood.
... I really look forward to your input!!

Let me know if you want pics or details of my CAI under a stock hood.

I started by taking a casting of the top of the engine compartment with the hood down and latched using a 2-part marine urethane foam to see what shape and volume I had to work with:

I trimmed the casting down to just the domed area of the hood because my idea was that the dome would be the CAI duct.

I have a 1 1/2" drop base under my air cleaner, so I had to cut out and glass in a notch for the distributor. Then I used clay to check clearances between the Ram Air Box and the hood. I had to take a wedge out of the passenger side corner and used carbon fiber and epoxy to close up the wedge.

If anyone is interested, I have a different Ram Air Box that I had used for a while. It already has the cutout to clear the distributor.

It fits under a stock '80 hood with a drop base with no problem.

My plan was to connect a C4 or C5 snorkel without the C4 or C5 filter (I have both), but I decided to go with the hood design instead. If anyone is interested in the Ram Air Box and parts I have, let me know.
