There is something about dual round head-lights that I just can't get enough of (I don't even like the C5 pop-ups, they just look weird) and the recessed square ones detract from the stream-lined apperence, GrandSport C3 has the only solid-state head-lights that are built-in in such a way that they actually look like they belong as part of the car.
(The exception to that rule is the 72 Corvette Sport Wagon which has recessed square head-lights which really is the finishing touch to that beast, do a Google search if you haven't seen it)
....and on the 8th day God created the C3 Corvette. It was perfect in all it's glory....and it had pop-up headlights.
Everyone is moaning about the vacuum system. That system is not really any more of a pain to maintain than anything else on the car...like belts, hoses, etc. If the hoses have been on the car since the 70s and are dry rotting, yeah you are going to have some problems. But if you order a hose kit, and actuator boots, take your time, and troubleshoot the system and get it back in good shape, you will have very few problems. The C4s have electric motors for it's lights and those things grind gears often (stock ones anyway). At least if the vacuum system is not working perfectly, the lights may be slow but they still work while giving signals of quitting all together.
Id rather just see an electric conversion kit for our current head light so we wont have problems with them

Just live with a C4 for a while. Have had to overhaul the headlight system on both headlights. Those gears, motors, and bushings can be just as big of a pain, if not more so, as the C3 vacumn system.
I love the round headlights like on the endurance racers, like the BFG car. I have been working up to putting them on my 68 race car, but now I have air ducts in the way. My father has an original set of the L-88 headlight buckets. One of these days I will just put them in and run it with my hardtop. I don't like the recessed ones at all.
Prefer the pop up "air brakes" myself. It's just TOO cool. Sometimes, I wait till someone's looking over at the car before I pull the switch, just so THEY can see how cool it is. On the other hand, if I were going to get fixed, GrandsportsC3's 1968 ones look very cool  . Don't like the Duntovs nor the LeMans style that they sell in catalogs, although I do think the Lemans style looks good on a C5.
Parttime. That road racer is just to COOL. 67 Heaven's picture is no slouch in my book either. JCL      "Sidepipes are the way"
I have the Guldstrand fixed bubbles but have yet to decide whether or not to install them. I love them on the old racers, just not sure I want them as a permanant mod on the car. They do fit the overall theme for the Rolling Thunder project.
