Opinion: My first Corvette was a '76 coupe with a custom nosepiece and recessed headlights. I don't regret buying it, but would never do it again. My biggest desire during ownership was to return it to original (which would have cost nearly as much as the entire car).
I agree, I don't really care for recessed headlights. Nothing wrong with having them, it's just not my taste. I've always thought the hide-away headlights were the coolest thing. I really like the hide-away headlights on the '68 Chargers :yesnod:.
the coolest aftermarket headlight setup I've seen has to be the setup like on GrandSportC3's blue car, and the duntov setup is cool too. I'd do that if I could afford it.

i like them...not the squared ones...the round ones
like on this lemans vette, this is my next ugrade...it's going
for $499 at gulstrand, i think it looks great with the L-88
hood and lets you get rid of the fussy vacuum system
I used to like it and wanted to get a set. then, as time went by, i decided i dont like them. they kill the sexy flow of the corvette. now on a 3rg gen camaro, it wouldnt look nearly as good any other way.

Ditto - They are the only ones I've seen that I like.

Ditto on the blue one, somehow I don't like the duntovs tho.. still visually kills the lines of the cars. Now what I had thought about doing on mine was getting sheets of the lcd panels that are dark (almost black) when no power is to them, and clear under power, and doing the square headlights bit, with that as the cover.. so during the day it would still be a mostly black surface, but when I turn the lights on go clear...
Of course, pricing on custom LCD panels is nutty range, but it was something to think about... (anything to get rid of the vacuum system!). ACtually I have some time on my hands, maybe i'll look into some of the electrical solenoids. Bound to be something...
