It's good to be on the Corvette Forum, there is a lot og great info.
The best forum for corvettes no doubt.
I'm getting the car ready for inspection here in Denmark, the brakes is the biggest problem at the moment.

One of the first thing I do after purchasing a older Vette is having all 4 calipers
replaced with stainless steel calipers. Factory calipers tend to leak... Don't save
money on the brake system - getting good brakes is a good investment...

68 smog requirements
FYI. I bought my 68 in 1984 and didn't come with a single smog component. HOWEVER, I ended up buying all of them. Here's what my L79 required (Federal Rules) to get smogged in California:
PCV
AIR Pump
AIR Exhaust System and associated tubing/hoses
Smog legal carb
Smog legal distributor
IF you need to get smogged you ought to ensure you have all this stuff. For 14k it should include all this stuff.

Now, I didn't think a '68 would have a smog pump, or anything else for that matter except maybe the PCV. I'm wrong about that?
BTW, I passed on the '68 vert. I just want the big block a little too bad, it turns out.

All ‘68s came with the smog equipment.
When I finish my Vette we’ll go for a ride. This stock appearing/sounding 327 Shark will feel like a 427 car without all that nose heavy weight.

I wouldn't trade my 68 Coupe for a 69 Coupe no way. 68 Coupes for example
are scarce, less than 10 thousand ever made. Yes there are some "year"
specific items like the door handle mechanisms and backup lights and ignition.
Some late 68's came with 69 interior components (door pannels for example)
My whole interior has been changed over to 69 just due to the fact that
they did make some very good updates and changes in 69.

If you want to smile while driving, buy a '69 big block.
