Late F body like Firebird V8, and as I recall that was the hose I had to use a hunk of drain waste tailpiece brass from Lowes Depot plumbing dept, and 2 clamps to extend it in the middle....at any rate I used the aluminum carb intake stat housing....routed behind the alternator....

been several years now, so this is my recollection, but that is how I did it....essentially....

I used one of the billet/swivel thermostat housings. It was tight and required a little grinding but it allowed me to install a stocl upper hose coming out in front of the alternatoe, with a mechanical fan.

Subsequently I modified my accessories drives and put in a CS130D alternator and Mark VIII fan. After this, I was uncomfortable with the closeness of the alternator belt to the hose and I Installed one of the corregated stainless things. It gave me more clearance and assured me that the water hose would not be enextectedly worn through.

Im not one to cuss, but im about to take up the hobby. I went to advance auto, found couple hoses that might be pretty close after a 20 min search. Got home and one ALMOST fit....almost meaning I need to cut it and hopefully find a short piece to splice into it as stated above (although im not keen on to the fact of a spliced hose on top of my engine thats seen everytime the hood is raised)..but alas time to move forward.

I cut the hose and realize...I have to go back to advance and find a short hose with a pretty tight 90 degree turn thats long enough to splice in..all the while the gods have decided to turn on every faucet in heaven to create the biggest gully washer we have had in sometime. (i do have a garage thank goodness)

I get to advance and within 5 seconds see a hose hanging on the rack that I didnt see the first time that looks like a perfect fit!!...I grab it and sure enough I think this is gonna work!!! I realize when I get to the counter this hose must fit a corvette of some type because my other hose..Close to the same length....now in two pieces....was $11.99..this one however is %@$#@ $24.99 FREAKING DOLLARS!!!....it HAS to fit a corvette of some year due to the corvette tax.

Long story short....I bring it home and it fits perfect. one hose and 2 trips down the drain. Btw...I have two half hoses if anyone is interested....
