my block is an aftermarket gm goodwrench 350 crate motor.
it appears to be fairly new compared to the car ( 8 years or less im guessing )
i figured since i found this build up and they can get close to 400 HP out of this motor . i can do what i can afford and pull 325 - 375 out of it. well see

ill mimic most of it as best i can in the stages i can with out backtracking if i can help it

i popped the radiator while replacing my harmonic balancer ( popped it with the back of the mallet i was using to tap on the balancer ) anyways. i figure since the radiator has to come out.. the cam might as well come out with it!

so heres my cam selection

Comp Cams #249-CL12-238-2
Xtreme Energy XE262H Hydraulic Flat Tappet Camshaft & Lifter Kit
Lift: .462''/.469''
Duration: 262°/270°
RPM Range: 1300-5600

i chose this cam over the 268 cam because im really not going to be on the strip all that much and i really wont be going over 80 miles an hour ( but i like getting there fast ) and the max lift on stock vortec springs is .475 and the 268 cam is above that. however im always open to other ideas.

im also going to put in a double roller timing chain while im in there.

i already have this guy in my closet
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-2701/
for an intake ( i paid 30 dollars for it )

i know it will need to be replaced when i put on vortec heads.
my carb selection will be a holley 670 Street avenger

im looking at the used head department ..

well after further review the head will be an 062 casting number vortec head. however if all i can find is a 906 than thats what i will go with ( its better than what i have now .. )

headers will be either summits or jegs 100 dollar long tube headers.. any reason not to use these?
