Default Fitted my high stall TC

It's been a long time since I have posted, but have been reading almost daily.
Just got my car back from the shop. I had a massive trans leak (rear seal) so decided to have the whole thing dropped, replace all the seals and bushes and uprate it at the same time. So I had the guys in the shop fit me a TCI Breakaway TC, TCI shift kit and perf filter and B&M SuperCooler.

What a difference! The TC is nice and loose allowing even this bog-standard L48 to move off the line and the shifts are good and firm. Most surprising is that she is still perfectly docile at low speeds too.

That's the trans done, now for that engine....... ;)

Nice convertor. Its the same one I had used in my TH400 before i went to OD. The $200 TCI was the single most bang for the buck performance mod I had done to the car. By itself alone, it knocked 4 tenths off the ET. And that was with a stock motor. Good choice.

What is your stall speed for that converter.

I'm sold. I want to try this with a decent cam upgrade.

Do you think you can spin them now?

I would thoroughly recommend a new converter. As John and Alwyn said, it is cheap performance. Stall is now at 2,200 (about 700 rpm up on the stocker.

I can just about spin with the nasty L48. With a new cam and heads it should be just about right.

I am looking for that elusive second gear scratch.....
