leaking differential on '81

leaking differential on '81
Hi all,
Just bought an '81 a few days ago, and the differential started leaking by the time I got it home. Definitely gear oil and from the differential- appears to coming from the front as far as I can tell so far- so I'm guessing it's the pinion seal if that's the right words.
Wondering if it's something I can do myself and if anyone can give me a quick overview of what to do. I have a '71 and have had most of it apart over the years but never any differential stuff.
It also has 3.08 gears- yuck! Also wondering how much more it would cost/work to put in new gears while I'm at it compared to just fixing the leak? I know setting up new gears isn't something I oughtta try myself.

We have many differentials to choose from if you would like to replace the entire unit, esp if you would like to change ratios.
