About two weeks ago my project to replace my gauges took a turn for the worse. I got carried away and tore apart half of the interior. The center console where the heater controls are, the parking brake console, and passenger side dash were all torn out. "While I'm in there why don't I fix this Bubba variety radio install." What a mess he made. I ended up replacing his ghetto-style heater harness too. I can't count the number of bare wires just lying around in there.
That's the bad news.
Good news: Today I had a day off, decent weather, and a sense of adventure. My gauges had all been installed in the panel and wired up so I just had to install the new heater harness and re-wire the radio. My interior is all back together now and my center gauge panel is looking quite nice with the white faced gauges in there.
Next project is fighting with SS braided hose to plumb the carb. Then, (*gasp*) I'll be able to drive my car!!!!
Cool! You mean people really drive these things? How do we get them to roll? Wheels on the jackstands?
I guess that I've taken too long on my own projects. Glad to hear yours is coming to an end right at the start of driving season.
