Not My Fault
Fault is not in question. Despite witness accounts that I may have been :bs speeding :bs (there was simply not enough road between my access road and the point of impact for me to break the posted 50MPH, but I probably would have thought a red Vette with a LOUD chambered exhaust was speeding too), the police accident report clearly states that the other driver was at fault. In fact, he was cited for failure to yield. I was traveling northbound on a US highway and he wanted to turn left to go southbound. He never looked to his left, which is where I was coming from, and pulled out in front of me.
As to your other point, I had to mentally convince myself that I had hit a telephone pole and that there was no other driver involved or else the cops would have rolled up onto the scene of a homicide rather than just an accident. :reddevil The closest the other driver got to me was when I hit him. :nono: The cops were our liaison as he would not come within 20 yards of me. Amazing how wise he suddenly became after making such a stupid decision trying to turn. And, yes, I am being treated for whiplash, but in my back, not my neck.
I got hit last Saturday by a truck also! A white Chevy 1500 WITH camper shell and that's probably why the P&%$* hit me cuz he couldn't see. I had my lights on too....
Welcome to the forum, Ford...
... sorry to hear about your accident :cry
However it looks very 'repairable' from the pics - new clip, hood, radiator, supports, etc. and you'll be rollin' again. Keep the vette dream alive - we're with ya buddy. :flag
It's totally fixable. I'd say your pretty lucky.
If the insurance co. totals it, take the money and buy it back from the
salvage yard at a cheap price and start fix'n.
