I have a buddy with a pulling truck that does better than that. 8000 big block ? what is the big deal?

i was wondering if 8000 RPM was to high for a BBC of over 454 Cid??

My only questions is "Why do you need a BB that pulls 8K rpm?" Isn't a 3-4000 rpm wide power band enough for your purposes?

Sure they will go there just fine if the valvetrain is good for it. I've been involved in some N/A big block door slammers that crossed the line at 9600+ RPM on every pass.

Just depends on what you're planning on doing. If racing seriously...RPM is your friend.

im not building no BBC lol. NEVER lol to dam spendy them Big blocks are lol
i love them as much as i do the SBC but there pricy
