My dad called his friend and his friend has a Chevy 327. He said it runs but it smokes when it runs. We bought it for $500. My dads friend at work loves cars and said he would love to help me rebuild the 327 and my Corvettes 350.
I'll post pictures within the next week when i go and get it.
What kinda car do you think i should put the 327 in? A Impala or a Camaro?
(My dads paying for the engine and the rebuild so he said its either going in a Impala or a Camero. Most likey it will be in a Camaro )

Reason: mispelled CAMARO
LOL its funny how many will misspell Camaro. I just seen the response and had to laugh. When I had My 70 Z28 I was on a forum where it was spelled 3 or 4 different ways by guys who had them. Yes put in a Camaro, and have fun.
I have to go with the Camaro. Is it just me or is $500 a bit too much for a 327 that will be rebuilt anyway?
No, it's not just you. I was thinking the same thing. I bought a running 4 bolt 350 out of a Chevy pickup from a bone yard for $250 to rebuild and put into my T-bucket.

Well i guess it does make sense that its $500. The chevy 350 was in production for a long time and they built over 90,000,000 of them. The 327 was in production for 8 years.
Also were all 327's turbo fires or was it a different set up?
I have another question about the engine. Seeing that its either going in a Impala or a Bel Air now, i have always like impala's or bel airs that have blowers. My question is, is a blower something that bolts onto a supercharger? How much horsepower will it increase it too (on average). Im mainly after the look of the blower but i also want performance.
Why waist your time and money on a 327 when you could get a complete running 400 4 barrel engine for less money? The rebuild parts and machine work cost the same.

More cubic inches, more power/torque,same size externally, for the same money if you use identical spec parts.
Unless you want to have a OE size engine and want to try to keep the car original. Pretty much small block parts cost the same for the different size displacements 283,302,327,350,400.
