Rear view mirror glue?

Default Rear view mirror glue?

My inside rear view mirror has come off, can supper glue work to hold it in place? Over here there is no special glue for this.

I think the glue sold for this purpose is essentially "super glue". It may be made a bit thicker to fill surface irregularities better...but, I believe, it is the same stuff [cyanoacrylate].

mine is going in a slightly different direction. I want to take the rearview mirror off. old and the mirror is crakced and flaking. I bought a new mirror and tried putting on the original mount on the windshield and it is to small. Would the best way to remove be to simply put out in the sun and get it hot and then some sort of goo gone?

I think the best bet would be to glue the new mirrors button onto the existing one using the permatex glue. Make sure you have the correct side up. mike...

I used epoxy to glue the new button to the old one which was too small.
