Default Ride height

Just wondering if anyone can give me some suggestions as to why my 79 will sit slightly lower on the drivers side then on the passengers side seems like it is roughly about a 1/2 to 1 inch differance.

Check your control arms. Just had this problem. Right lower control arm was cracked in front. Had hole by the ball joint. Left side 1 inch taller. Now all is good. Replaced the warn out lower control arm. Bought reconditioned from Corvette Central. You may have to jack the car up to get good look.

From personal experience with my '69, and what I have read here on the forum, the lean seems to be pretty common. I have a VB&P composite rear spring, and they suggested reversing the spring side to side to see if that improves the way the car sits. I did that and cut the right spring slightly more than the left to even it up. All square now.

(I cut the front springs to lower the front since it was way too high with aluminum heads, intake, water pump, and headers.)

I'm sure others will chime in....

Hi C,
Is the difference in the front, rear or both?
In the front it could be a basic as not having the coil spring seated in it's pocket properly.
In the rear, one side of the transverse spring could be more tired than the other. Or, the trailing arm bolt to spring rubber bushings could be more deteriorated on one side than the other. Or, ....
Regards,
Alan

It would be both front and rear and you can see the differance in the space between the fender and the top of the tires

CMTCB,
I think the later C3's had rubber body to frame mount bushings. Those wear out over time giving the car a slight lean.
Good luck.
