Ok, so I'm missing the jack to a '72. I need one. What fits? Not looking for dated stuff. From what I get, I think the 53-77 fits. Input? Cheaper the better. Its going to get sandblasted and painted anyway, its for a daily driver, so this is just in case $hit happens. Know what I mean? LMK what you have or where to get it. Thanks.
I went to a local corvette shoo that had some salvaged corvettes. They found me a nice one. That was years ago. I would post a request in the forum parts section cause a member might have one laying around that they want to sell.
I am interested, but not for your asking price. Since this is a daily, and the jack is just something to use "in case," I will let the dated ones go to those who want them. I will use just about any that will fit. $250 for me is kinda steep. But nice jack to those who need it! Good luck with your sale.
If you need an original configuration jack, find one at a Corvette parts swap meet for 'reasonable' money...or buy one for a ridiculous price at the Corvette aftermarket suppliers.
I just wanted to jack the car up [if needed], so I bought an inexpensive bottle jack at the local car parts store. It (and handle) fit in the same space as the original.

I'm in the same situation with my '72. But a bottle jack I bought at Walmart was too tall to fit under the frame rail. Can you tell me the name brand on the one you found? It seems as though that's the only alternative to the glut of $250 C3 jacks that are out there.
Okay. Even though I especially hate that particular Poop Boys (in C.H.) I'll take a look. The one from Walmart not only wouldn't fit under the frame, but it maxes out and wouldn't lift high enough anyway. Thanks for the tip. This is temporary until next year, when I spend some more to go for Top Flight.
You can get a scissor jack at any auto parts store for about $35.00.
For "just in case" it will do just fine.
I used the jack from my wife's 2002 Cavalier once and it worked just fine. It has a similar folding lug nut wrench as the original too. Shjouldn't be more than $10-15 at your local salvage yard.

Am I the only one that has Motor Club?
I haven't jacked my car up with a manual jack in forever.
If on the road, I call motor club for a tow to the house where I have my aluminum floor jacks, stand, tires, etc.

As a Boy Scout I am just trying to be prepared. I carry a jack and a (mini) spare. Hope never to need them, but you never know. You may be in an area with no cell coverage or a tower may go down or you may be in a tunnel or they may be busy or delayed.
Better to be safe than sorry. My 'spare' is the original tire, which does hold air...so I could only limp to a service station, if I had to. But, for a $12 (7" tall) bottle jack, I have "limp-home" capability.
And, yes, I have Hagerty insurance and they have tow coverage included.
Just a note when buying a bottle jack, don't judge size by running out of walmart and throwing it under the car. Fully flatten one of the tires. I made that mistake once. And when I had the flat, couldn't get the damn thing under there! True story (not with the vette) but vettes are LOW!

I always carry a jack and have a set of jumper cables in all my cars. I have AAA and have had to use it on occasions as old cars tend to break down at inopportune times. However, I don't want to have to call and wait for a towtruck to come and do something that I can do in 10 minutes if I have the right tools.

I guess you know to keep the tire O.D. the same on the rear or you'll fry the friction discs in the punkin'.
