2 Front Sway Bar Questions?
Hi!
1) Does the "bump" in the center of the front sway bar face up or face down?
2) My new bar has poly bushings.
Does the split in the bushing face the front or the rear when installed?

Can someone please look?
My thought is that going up it would hit the car?
The rear one goes up - to clear the spare carrier - but that the rear.

The front one on mine the dip goes towards the back.... it seems yours is different, I don't think it matters as long as it does not interfere with the radiator or anything else.. my front bar is HUGE...VBP
Rear faces up, if that means anything....
and as far as the poly bushing placement goes...by going out there and looking how they are so tight in the full metal bracket, I don't think that it matters at all....
hope that helped...

I'm pretty sure if you put it wrong the loops at the end the links go through will be at a bad angle.

mine is a pretty flat bar, and thus can be put either way if the bump went up/down, but again, mine does point towards the rear...

I don't have a car here to look at but I do have a couple factory bars , I'll go dig them out and take a look.

I think I would have lost my $5. The 2 bars I have go "back" and down very slightly.
Clams I'm sure someone will chime in that can actually look at their car or take a pic but if you hold it up you will see the ends will be at a bad angle if you put it on wrong.

Have you gone out and played around with it. It should be obvious to someone with even the slightest mechanical aptitude.

it faces up (on my 76 at least)
and the slit faces towards the back (again on my 76)
and also the bowl like indent on the ends where the control arms bolt up faces up so that should solve that problem
hope that helps

OOPS!
The general shape of it follows the stock bar anyway - making the same answers applicable.
If it makes you feel any better - I now have to wait for the right bushings.
