Getting my car ready for paint I dropped something down the window of my 68....sparks flew and my power window does not work.....I am assuming since my other one works it is not the relay or the fuse...and I have blown my motor? Can these be rebuilt or am I better off buying new and replacing?
Thanks,
Jeff

I don't see how you could have damaged the motor. Probably the wires. There should not be anything that would short out anyway unless the wiring was already suspect.
Neither of the 2 wires should be hot until the key is on and you push the button. Did the sparks fly after you pushed the button ?
No I actually was trying to fish something out that was dropped (sorry mispoke before) with a metal extension. I was fishing around and I thought it had ht the motor and sparked?
I might have had the key on to adjust the window to get to the piece I dropped...this had happened last year and I am just getting around to putting things back together.
Did not push the button
