Default 1982 C3 Crossfire problem

Hey guys,
I am new but I can search and can't figure out my problem...So I got a stock(minus the exhaust) 82 C3...she was running fine but I had to let her set for 6 months(military) I came home changed the gas and she's started hesiating and stalling...not all the time just some times...I changed the fuel filter and cleaned the EGR but still sometimes she does it and won't run for crap and then other times she runs fine...It's almost like the motor is starving for fuel like it's vapor locking...If anyone has any advice I would take it...Or if someone can please give me a list of what I need to change it to Carb... Also if anyone in Socal can give me a hand since I just moved here that's good too..

Thanks,

Brandon

Don't change it to a carb. As low tech as the cross fire is vs todays fuel injection it is still light years ahead of the carb. If everything is working correctly with the system it is a very reliable system. I am working on an 82 right now for a forum member. I have converted mine to fuel injection 2 years ago and I would not go back to a carb if it was given to me. Are you getting a check engine light? Are both injectors flowing fuel?

What kind of HP are you looking for. The cross fire is pretty much done at around 300 HP. I thought you wanted to stay somewhat stock. If it is higher HP you are looking for than yes you need to ditch the cross fire. Still would stick with fuel injection but yes it is expensive.

300-400...I love fuel injection but the simplicity of a carb sounds nice and cheap...I built a newer honda motor a few years ago and it almost broke the bank...not trying to do that again...

http://www.crossfire.homeip.net/index.php?act=idxi would check in here and ask about the new intake for cross-fires.you need to check fuel pressure .

Provided you have not tampered with a single thing you probably need a fuel pump. Have you tampered with anything? The system is pretty basic. The temp sensor feeds the computer info....works like a choke. The TPS on the rear throttle body tells the computer if you at a stop or accelerating. The IAC's (one on each throttle body) control the air flow. The O2 sensor provides information to the computer as to whether you are running lean or rich. The injectors determine how much gas.

But I can't say for sure without more information.

When you start it does it idle fine? What RPM in neutral? When it warms up what is the RPM in neutral and in gear? Any bounce?

You checked the EGR thats good. How about the PVC?

Does it surge at any point, if so your throttle position sensor may need adjusting
