Hedman block hugger style - The true equal-length type I tried first fit but one tube blocked the clutch shaft that runs from the engine to the frame.
I now am running RPM 6085 centerbolt heads, H.O.T. cam, 1.6 rockers and ProFlo EFI. In the process of getting it running now.
BTW - A friend now has my old ZZ4 heads along with a performer RPM intake and XE268 cam in his previously stock 76 motor. He bought hedman headers also. The car runs like a bat! :D :D
I run Hooker Super Competition 1 3/4" tubes, Ceramic coated headers.
They fit really well no flow restrictions or problems with clearence easy to install and they don't melt any of my plug wires. They are expensive but you get a quality product...

I run Hooker headers on mine also from Summitt Racing. I thought I would save money and buy the none ceramic coated ones, but have soon taken them off and had Airborne Coatings put a ceramic/black coating on it, so much better looking now, and lot cooler in the engine compartment now.
Dynomax Ceramic Coated- Fit great only $219.00 from Jegs :D
I just called Dynomax and they don't make headers for the d-ports, only oval port. :nonod:
Was hoping for those, they are a good price and I have heard good comments on them. Guess I'll have to look for a different brand, probably Hooker as I've had those on several rides and had good luck with them.
Mike69,
Hooker assured me that their sidepipe headers wouldn't fit angle plug heads! Doesn't the ZZ4 have angle plugs?
If so, did you have to mod anything?
This was the build up I had planned but was changing my mind due to the info from Hooker.
Not to knock other header brands, but I've owned several on different applications and have only personally been happy with the Hookers. On the Vette I have the ceramic coated Hooker Super Comps and once again am very happy with them. Expensive, but worth it.
I put Sanderson's on mine, they have a set that is made for the ZZ4 and better yet a set for the 385 Fast burn heads. Bolted right up with no problem and no leaks.
You guys that have the Hooker Super Comps, what part number did you use? I show 2 possible, both have 1 3/4 primaries, one is 28" tubes, the other is 25" tubes. They also have different collector lengths. Which are you guys running:
