one of the 9/16 bolts that attaches the seat belt guide by the sill of the 72 was rounded off from rust. a regular socket just spun. i didn't have a large enough reverse type bolt remover to fit. what to do? went by local harbor freight ( yeah, i know) and got a set of metric spline sockets for $10. put the 13mm size in my inpact extension and hammered in on. twisted that bolt right out-didn't even damage the socket.
bubba rules!
Hi jnb,
If Bubba had done it he would have gotten the socket stuck on the bolt, couldn't loosen or tighten, AND couldn't get it off. He'd put the seat back in; the socket would stick out far enough so the seat and it's back couldn't move.

Alan
That's how the thieves get the keyed lug nuts off nice wheels! (My friend is a city cop, he mentioned trying that when the key on my 4runner got stripped. I just sent it to my mechanic and he put regular lug nuts on)
cause metric sizes are slightly smaller to there imperial match most of the time but sometimes it goes the other way just like ........
5/16 tighter onto 8mm
11mm tighter onto 7/16
19mm onto 3/4
1/2 onto 13mm
yada yada..but jnb if that bolt was that rounded that you got a 13mm onto a 9/16 it must have been munched up
