Default slotted mag wheels

I have a question, can someone tell me what the difference is between a shelby and ansen sprint aluminum slotted mag wheel. I sold a set of wheels I thought were ansen sprint, they are shelby, now the buyer doesn't want to pay. I already shipped the wheels, because the buyer claimed they would send payment at the same time. He's also tried to claim they were for a ford, and that all baldwin motion cars used ansens.

These are 5x4.75, they are not mustang wheels. The only info I can find is that there were many manufacturers of slotted mag wheels, shelby was one of them, not sure if they are associated with shelby american, I kind of doubt it.

All of them appear to be out of business now as well, even ansen, who it looks like was bought out by american racing.

Can anyone tell me if there are any appreciable differences between shelby and ansen slotted mag wheels? I can't see any, they are the same style and both are cast aluminum. Also, can anyone tell me that BW cars used only ansen wheels? Thanks.

If I understood correctly, Motion installed whatever wheels the buyer specified when ordering.

These are the wheels I sold, the buyer is refusing to pay because he's turning his car into a BM replica and says these are wrong, and are of inferior quality to the Ansen wheels, which are correct for a BM car. I disagree.

Here's the whole set I sold. All these pictures were sent before I shipped these out.

American Racing does reproduce Ansen Sprint wheels.

I asked in another thread about wheel options on Motion cars but never got an answer. I have seen Motion cars with A/R 200S wheels (Daiseys).

Thanks for your help 3Js, the buyer is saying I misrepresented the wheels I sold him and is refusing to pay, I can't find the original post where I listed the wheels, and I don't understand why the wheels I sold are any less valuable or correct for a BM clone than a set of wheels marked ansen on the back. I looked in my subscribed threads trying to find the post where I listed them for sale but no luck, anyone know how to find this? I wanted to re-read what I wrote.

Also, I know american racing is still making 'ansen sprint', but my understanding is that 'ansen' was actually a separate company that is now defunct (along with US indy and others that made the same style wheels) and bought out by american racing. I guess the problem I'm having is that all of these slotted 'mag' wheels are actually just imitations of a popular style of magnesium racing wheel, I don't see how any of them is better than the next, they are all cast aluminum and the same style of wheel, all made from 1963-197X.

where were the wheels shipped to?

If he is not paying, maybe a forum member can pick them up and safe guard them for you until you can get them back?

They were shipped to NY, honestly I'm not hard up for the money, but I'm very frustrated, he said he was shipping the payment the same weekend I told him the wheels were being shipped. I've spent a lot of time trying to figure out what exactly makes the 'shelby' manufactured wheels inferior to an 'ansen'. Also, paying for shipping back and forth pretty much wipes out the cost of the wheels, I only asked for $375 for them, they aren't rare or collector wheels and paying $250 to ship them there and back is sort of pointless. I think I may have described them as ansen sprint style, but since I can't find the ad I can't check, still I don't get the hang up. Thanks for everyone's help.

In fact, if anyone in the NY area is looking to put together a BM clone and doesn't care about the name 'shelby' being on the back of the wheel I will make you one hell of a deal on these wheels. I could care less about the money, but I'd much rather see these wheels go to someone who isn't trying to shake me down.

You sold them on Craigslist?

1. You're an idiot for not getting the payment first. Lesson learned I hope?

If you showed pictures then the fault should lie with both buyer and seller now. Maybe offer to take 50% off for the error in brand and that way you'll still get something?

Sold to a member on this forum, I'd rather give them away to someone else local than take 50% and let him keep them. Thanks for pointing out that I'm an idiot, however I've sold another set of wheels on this board along with other stuff that I didn't want that I got when I bought the car to other members and never had a problem. Anyone in NY want some cheap wheels for their c3?

Seems pretty obvious you were far more trusting than he was.
