Default coolant white foam

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a 69 L46 that was rebuilt a year ago but about 2 months ago the coolant started foaming a fine white foam that gurgles out of the expansion tank when I remove the cap after a 20 min ride.
The engine runs fine there is no water in the oil there is no white exhaust steam or smoke no leaks any where and the coolant level does no drop and does not over heat. the engine temp stays about 160 to 168.
I have removed the thermostat and antifreeze flushed the system and added water only. I took the vett for 20 min rides every day for a week. At first there was no foaming but now appears to be coming back by the 5 day. the water pump is new ac delco added when eng. was rebuilt. Any ideas?

Don't remove the cap. Problem solved.

You can buy a "block tester" kit at your local parts store and see if there's a headgasket problem.

I am not sure of what you mean by white foam. But engine oil added to water turns to white. i suggest you remove some of the foamy water and put it in a clear glass. If the white substance sits on top of the water after a few hours....its oil.

Do you have any oil lines running into your rad for cooling...transmission or other?

There are other sources but test the substance first.

I was always told that foam in the coolant means an exhaust leak.
