My dad has a fully restored stingray it has been sitting in his garage for about 8 years now. Assuming there is no engine/tranny problems where should I start? Kind of a broad question but I'm going to check all the fluid levels and lines for rust which it has been under a cover in a clean garage. So shouldn't be much in the way of dirt and grime should I check fuel system what should I do to get it running again?

Start under the hood. Replace all fluids, all things rubber. Then go to brakes and do the same. Pull the plugs & put in a squirt of oil in each cylinder. While plugs are out, crank engine over by hand.
Pull the gas tank & yank out the rubber liner. You will then have a clean tank to use. Put in a couple gallons fresh fuel. Remove fuel line from carb & crank engine over with the starter until FRESH fuel comes out the fuel line.
INstall new filter at carb where fuel line goes in. Start engine. Drive it like you stole it.
Has this car been started/driven in the last eight years? Seems trivial, but if the car has been used on regular, periodic jaunts around the neighborhood, then put back into storage, you may not need to do much.
