On my 82 it seems as though the previous owner took out the light in the console above the A/C and heater controls. It looks as though the bulb has a carrier and the bulb. Does anyone know a source for this assembly or at least the carrier? if that is what is used and the bulb number? I've checked the normal places Dr. Rebuild, Covette America.
Thanks in advance
donald
Does someone have a pic or could someone take a pic of where this bulb is. I think my '77 is supposed to have it too, but its never worked and I have no idea where the light comes from.

From the little unit sticking from the underside of the upper portion of the center gauge cluster. It's supposed to shin upon the heater control area on the shift plate, and really doesn't work all that great. GM really should have placed a light bulb behind the heater control unit in my judgement.

The 77' heater control faceplate is solid and not transparent. The only way to illuminate it is from above. I refinished the faceplate and with fresh paint on the markings including the blue/white/red on the temp control, they illuminate nicely at night. :chevy
Thanks for the pic. I'm away from my vette right now and all i have is a pic with that part at the very top. Mine looks a little different like the plastic has been broke or something. I remember seeing those two wires hanging behind the cluster though, not connected to anything. Looks like I have something to fix when I get back. Thanks again!!
