Working on a 76 stingray. Anyone got a vacuum diagram? Theres a hose from what looks to be a charcoal canister in the drivers fender and runs over the wheel well. Im thinking of deleting it along with the canister. There are no lines running to it except this hose and one other nipple for a hose. There is no other form of emissions equipment on this car.

Three hoses are supposed to be running to the vapor canister. Two hoses from the carb - one is the hose that goes to the pcv valve, and continues to the canister. The other runs from the vacuum port on the front of the carb, and runs to the canister. The third line is the vapor line from the gas tank. On the passenger side of the tank is a vapor separator, and the vapor line runs from that to the vapor canister.
It sounds like the the canister is not hooked up, so you should be able to remove the vacuum lines, and block off the vapor line. The only other thing you should need to do, is to make sure you are using a vented gas cap, and not a sealed one. If someone in the past disconnected the canister, they should have switched to a vented cap at that time.
