Options offered for the 1978 Corvette included Code: ZX2 (Convenience Package). My question is what other items besides the lighted Visor Vanity Mirror was included in the Convenience Package?
dome light delay
headlight warning buzzer
underhood light
low fuel warning light
interior courtesy lights
floor mats
intermittent wipers
right side visor mirror(no light)
This is interesting, my car came with all of that, EXCEPT intermittant wipers. I always assumed that the car had the convenience group. were these items available seperately?
No. You could not buy those items separately (which was part of the marketing strategy)...if the buyer wanted any of those items, they had to buy them all.

My 78 also has all of those except for the intermittent wipers.
I ordered my 1978 Vettes with the "Convenience Package" while waiting for the car (9-month wait) the dealer called me and stated that the intermittent wipers were deleted & that a credit was to be applied. I believe that I have seen later cars Pace-Cars that did have the intermittent wipers.
You know...all those 'creature features' that the Japanese were giving their auto customers for free and that GM had to package as an $84 option---
And we (the USA) taught the Japanese to do that in the name of "quality" after WW II. They learned well, I'd say. And that caused the US Big 3 to think differently.

Similar thing happened to me. I ordered the ZX2 Convenience Group (cost $97 here in Canada). While waiting for my car they found me one sooner and I was given a $15 credit because intermittent wipers were removed from the package.
I have two 78s, one with intermittant and one without. The 78 silver anniversary is a November build with ZX2 and, as others describe, came with a credit on the window sticker.
the 78 Pace Car came with the intermittant.
ZX2 also included the rearend light that helped illuminate the spare tire area in the event you're stuck on the road and need light assistance with the spare tire. The light fixure is located to the left of center on the frame rail. We check this during NCRS judging but many owners are unaware the light exists.
Its actually a pretty cool feature when considering this was 1978 and when exiting and securing the vehicle, the underneath of the vehicle would remain lite for approximately 30 seconds.
You should also know that Willcox is now producing the circuit boards that serve as the timer for the convenience group. I've tested it and it works nicely.
