Keep the shims separate so you can measure them and reinstall the same as they were removed. Then take it to a reputable alignment shop after you've completed the installation. Buy a set of stainless steel shims.

Buy the stainless shims and have them on hand before you start. Try to measure what is there before you start or match the shims to the new. I read here that the inside sets the toe and the outside fills the gap. This is what I did with mine and then brought it to a Corvette speaking alignment shop. I called before I started and they told me to get it as close as possible and they will get it right. Hope this helps.

I replaced both my frame and trailing arms so I just shoved shims in about equally on both sides. I drove the car several times before going to the alignment shop (sort of set the toe-in in front) , and although the handling was far from ideal you'd be suprised how easily the car drives with bogus alignment. I wouldn't take the car on the highway but for city-driving speeds you should be able to make it to the alignment shop without any problems.
