headlight canister positioning

headlight canister positioning
On a 68, do the headlight vacuum canisters mount with the rear vacuum tube mounted at the top or down . And which way does the tube point, inward or outward?

Hi AW,
The elbow is in the lower position.
On my 71 both elbows point towards the outside. I couldn't find anything that indicated 68 model year was different, but I'm not sure.

Same with my 69. Both elbows coming out of the canisters point out...
Seemed kind of weird when i was running my tubing but i didn't give it much thought since switching canisters would have been a pain.
