For some reason, my buddies 75 Corvette WILL NOT START. We THINK we wired the starter improperly, can someone maybe post a diagram or picture of how to wire it properly? The manual only shows starters through 74, and says that 75+ don't use the IGNITION COIL(R) terminal. I know I got the BAT wire on properly, but then there's 2 other wires, are they both supposed to be connected at the same terminal? Any help is appreciated!
I don't have my manual with me at the moment...will be accessible tomorrow though and I'll look it up for you. It's true that the 75 uses electronic ignition so it doesn't have a resistor bypass wire that the prior vettes used; however, I think mine does has a wire going to the coil terminal on the starter...I don't think the wires go to the same place.
Another thing to check is the alarm system...which includes a starter cut-off. Does the alarm system work? If not then it could be the factory alarm keeping the starter from working. When I first got my vette it was weird that like every third time I tried to start it it wouldn't startup...waited a few minutes then it would start. Turned out to be the starter cut-off (which is a mechanical solenoid) was getting stuck in the off position...had to bypass it with wiring.
I don't want to go into the details in an open forum, but if you email me I could share that info with you, cause I had to dig into it when I installed an aftermarket alarm system that had it's own starter cut-off.
