Just in case anybody's interested here's the quote's on the truck rental:
Renting a 15ft truck with a car hauler, one-way from Minneapolis, Mn to Ft. Walton Beach, Fl :cool:
U-HAUL = $1450.00 with 6 days
RYDER = $1127.00 with 6 days
Ryder also included 165 more miles in their package. I'm going with Ryder, I'd be :crazy: not to. The money saved with Ryder will pay for a good portion of the fuel costs for said truck :yesnod:
You're takin' an Orange vette to the Orange state. Enjoy the sunshine! Your vette will like it and you'll like it! I'm jealous. I'd love to bail out the northeast.
I had a similar experience a few years ago when I moved from Florida. Ryder threw in extra miles and extra days for no additional charge.
I called U-Haul first and after they gave me a quote, they said "if you find a lower price, we'll beat it. "Oh really" I said ( I don't play that game). "In other words, you're capable of giving me a lower price but you won't unless I consider using your competitor".
Rick. Keep me posted when you land, and we'll stop in June/July. We're doing our relocation look then and will start in Pensacola and go across to Jacksonville. Thanks, JCL :cool: :cool: :chevy "Sidepipes are the way"
You've already pulled the plug, but I couldn't help myself...
Last time I rented a truck, Ryder and U-Haul were very close. But Budget was half the price -- and I got to drive a nice, fairly new 18' Isuzu cabover! :smash:
