Default where do these parts go?

when I took the steering column out about 6 months ago I was smart enough to label them so at least I know they belong somewhere to the flange between the steering shaft and the steering gear.

the one on the left is about 2-1/4" wide, the one on the right is about 1" high.

Now I have no idea how they go back. I do believe that they must be there to secure the pinch bolts somehow from working themselves out, and the bigger one goes around the flange (or not?). I remember it was difficult to get off and thought back then that if would be a pain to get back on - should have taken a pic.

There is nothing in my assembly manual.

Anybody please...?

I think the one on the left goes at the very end of the steering column.

The right one is a brake cable retainer clip. I don't remember one of those on the column.

What year? The smaller clip looks like it could be the clip which holds the reverse lock cable to the plate which the column bolts to, engine compartment. A retainer for the cable.

it's a 75'

I think that's where the smaller clip is from.

The large one probably snaps into the groves of the retainer.
Not sure what it is actually securing at that location.

It is hard to see in that area. I will try tomorrow when I have some sunlight.

If it's a manual (like mine) the smaller clip looks like it is for retaining the ignition lock cable to the bracket under the steering column. (Shifting into reverse locks the ignition allowing you to pull the key out.) It's a heavy steel wound mechanical cable that goes from the trans to the steering column. Not sure if automatics have something similar. Here it is on my car..
